Margaret Jane DeHaan April 12, 1955 – May 3, 2021
Margaret Jane DeVries was born on April 12, 1955, to Case and Evelyn DeVries in Long Beach, CA, and went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2021 at home in Timnath, CO. She had one older brother, Garrett, and one older sister, Julia. She met her husband of 46 years, Larry, at Ontario Christian High School their junior year when they were locker buddies and had been together ever since. They married in 1975 and had four kids – Sarah, Casey, David, and Laura.
Margaret dedicated her early life to being a loving mom and supportive dairy wife. She was active in serving God and community in church and school. After the kids were grown, she and Larry lived life to the fullest. They started a new life in Colorado and many family members followed. They traveled all over the world and eventually bought a winter home in Indian Wells, CA. She not only loved to travel, she loved to plan trips for others. The trips that she planned were always memorable and always included her special touch.
When they were home, Margaret was the ultimate hostess, always welcoming family and friends into her home. She had a special gift of making her kids, grandkids, family, and friends feel special and loved. She created so many special memories for all of us that we will treasure forever.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, Sarah (Tom) Lanting, Casey (Janelle) DeHaan, David (Lori) DeHaan, and Laura (Jeremy) Jones; and her nine grandchildren, Tara Lanting; Anja, Selah, Clara, and Darla DeHaan; Emily and Henry DeHaan; and Brendan and Kacey Jones, as well as her siblings Garrett (Carla) DeVries and Julia (Tony) Van Loon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Wilma DeJong, Loren and Thressa Struiksma, and Henry and Pattie DeHaan, as well as many extended family members.
Our beloved Wife, Mother, and Beppe will be greatly missed but we know that she is with her Lord in her heavenly home.
