Margaret Vargas

Margaret was married to Prudencio Martinez in 1949 and later divorced. She married Leo Vargas in 1978 and was married until his death in 2000.

Margaret was wise, gentle, kind, loving, and loyal. She was loved by many and was always there for everyone. Margaret was a homemaker and stay at home mom. She was an excellent cook. Margaret's trademark dishes were prune pie and baked bread.

Margaret is survived by 5 daughters, Teresa Martinez of Brighton, Helen "Elaine" Rivera, Marcella (Nacho) Holguin, Patsy (Juan) Holguin, and Brenda Martinez of Greeley; 3 sons, Prudencio Martinez Jr. of Denver, Arnold Martinez, Jerry Martinez of Commerce City, 28 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband- Leo Vargas, sister- Ida Garcia, brother- Elias "George" Muniz, grandson- Jerome Martinez, great grandchildren- Juan Francisco Ramos Jr. and Emily Ramos.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014 at First Assembly of God. Interment Mizpah Cemetery, Platteville.
