Marjorie Thompson, 92, passed away on September 12, 2026, at Fairacres Manor in Greeley, Colorado, due to complications from dementia. Born on September 12, 1934, in Sterling, Colorado, she was the daughter of Roy and Mary Grooms.
Marjorie experienced a life-changing cardiac arrest while camping near Estes Park shortly after her 59th birthday, which resulted in short-term and cognitive memory loss. Despite these challenges, she remained surrounded by the love and support of her family.
On July 18, 1952, Marjorie married the love of her life, Jack Thompson. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to one another. They celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2022 before Jack's passing in May 2023.
Marjorie devoted much of her life to caring for her family as a homemaker. After her children were grown, she and Jack served as managers of the New Colony and Longmeadow apartment complexes in Greeley. Her family was the center of her world, and she will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Marjorie and Jack enjoyed traveling, especially to Mexico, and shared a deep love for the Colorado mountains. They spent many happy years living in the Estes Park area before moving to The Bridge Assisted Living Center in their later years. Marjorie's warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marjorie is survived by her sons, Randy (Pam) Thompson and Ron (Cindy) Thompson;
