Martin Orozco of Greeley died Saturday, December 17, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. He was born July 23, 1927 in El Vallezio, Chih., Mexico to Alfredo and Anna (Hernandez) Orozco. He was reared in Mexico and married Cruz Gonzalez in Mexico. They moved to Greeley in 1989 living here since.
Martin was a farmer all of his life. He loved to work in his garden, raising vegetables and flowers. He was especially fond of his red roses. He enjoyed going for walks in Greeley.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cruz; 2 daughters, Elva Orozco (Manuel Monge) and Blanca Orozco (Jose Jurado) all of Greeley; 4 sons, Arturo Orozco (Dorothy) of Greeley, Elias Orozco (Irma) of Loveland, Jose A. Orozco (Rafaela) of Greeley and Augustine Orozco of Johnstown; 3 sisters, Adela Rodriquez (Jesus) and Catalina Orozco all of Farmington, New Mexico and Griselda Orozco of Chih., Chih., Mexico; 4 brothers, Antonio Orozco of Yepomera, Chih., Mexico, Rafael Orozco (Eva) of LaConcha, Chih., Mexico, Santana Orozco of Las Varas, Chih., Mexico and Alfred Orozco of Ft. Collins; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by 2 brothers.
Visitation 2:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
