

He was born on March 3, 1940 to Samuel and Rose (Federman) Sweet in Detroit, Michigan. Martin was raised and grew up in the Fullerton and Detroit area where he also graduated from High School. In 1957, he joined the United States Navy and served the country until 1961. After being honorably discharged, he become a member of the American Legion. Martin had three children, his twins, Linda and Laura, and his youngest daughter, Michelle. He married Norma (Bonato Ringo) on June 14, 1997.
During Martin's life, he enjoyed carpentry and anything to do with building. Even after retirement, his favorite thing to do was build. Martin also enjoyed yard work and gardening; he grew the most beautiful rose bushes that always smelled good. In his free time Martin liked keeping up with football, specifically the Detroit Lions and the Denver Broncos, and watching NASCAR.
Martin is survived by wife, Norma Sweet; daughters, Linda, Laura, and Michelle (Entennie) Brodeur; step children, Corrie Bonato (Dustin Evans), Lori (Dave) Duarte; grandchildren, Delilah, Matthew (Ashley), Valerie, Jeremey, Kirsten (Kneko), Dylan, Makayla (Miguel), Payton (Christian), Kelton (Joe), and Devyn; great-grandchildren, Levi, Grace, Alizee, and Zelyianna; and his brother, Harvey Sweet.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his two step-brothers.
A Graveside Service for Martin will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado, 80634.
