Marvin William Bohman, 94, of Loveland, died March 5, 2013. He was born October 18, 1918 in Pueblo, Colorado to Gustav and Ellen (Lawson) Bohman. In 1923 the family moved to Las Animas and he attended Melonfield Rural School and graduated from Bent County High School in 1936. He then entered Western State College at Gunnison and received his AB Degree in 1941. He entered into the U.S. Army Air Force in March of 1942 and was discharged in 1945.
Marvin accepted a position as Assistant Business Manager at Adams State College in 1945. While there he met Betty Jane Falligan on May 26, 1947. They were married June 14, 1950 at Grandview Church, Denver, Colorado. In 1952, he received his MBA Degree in Finance from the University of Denver. He became a Business Manager at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley in 1962 and retired in November of 1978.
Marvin was a member of Occidental Lodge No. 20 AF and AM, El Jebel Shrine, Garden City Chapter #3 of the Order of Eastern Star, Mahi Shrine Club #18, and El Jebel Shrine Temple. Marvin was Masons Master in 1977, presiding officer in Eastern Star in 1983 and was a 50 year jewel member in Masons.
In their retirement Marvin and Betty enjoyed time spent with their family at their Red Feather Lakes cabin.
Marvin is survived by the couple’s three children Judy Brink of Loveland, Larry (Theresa) of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Gary (Min) of Grand Prairie, Texas. He had 7 grandchildren, Kristin Bontz, Kelly Brink, Amber Brink, Brian Bohman, Bridget Ajinga, Brittany Bohman and Kayla Bohman and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty in 2009.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 11, at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
