Mary Elizabeth Lovelace Keaton, born January 13, 1929, passed away February 10, 2017. She lived to be 88…which came as a huge shock to her. Through sheer persistence and a determination to make life better for her children, Mary went from dropping out of high school to care for her four brothers and sister to graduating as a RN from the University of Tennessee. She ended her working life as a greeter at Sam’s where she made such an impression that you couldn’t walk through town with her without children and their parents running up to say hi. There were unbelievable hurdles, heartbreaks and joy along her life’s way and she never understood how remarkable her journey and accomplishments were. She leaves behind her daughter, Carol, and the apple of her eye, her grandson, Sam Braun. Love lives on.
