Mary Margurite Scheel

She was born on October 29, 1932, in Fleming, Colorado to George Theodore and Anna Inez (Plank) Hradecky.

Mary spent her life in Colorado. During her time in high school, she met the love of her life, Eldon Scheel. They were married in Fleming, Colorado on December 31, 1950, and built a wonderful life together. They enjoyed dancing, and working on their ranch. She retired from the Weld County Social Services department after working there for several years.

Mary had a strong Christian faith, guided by her beliefs and sharing her love for the Lord. She was dedicated to volunteering and helping people in need whenever she could. This included being a foster parent.

She was an avid Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan.

Mary will be missed by her family and friends that loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (James) Mechler of Fredericksburg, TX; Debra (Walter) Kohlhoff of Eaton, CO; Joleen Scheel (Stanley Sandoval) of Greeley, CO; brother, John Hradecky of Sterling, CO; brother-in-law Allen Amen of Greeley, CO; sister-in-law Carol Scheel of Sterling, CO; grandchildren, Lisa (Monte) Schneider of Greeley, CO; Rebecca (John) Riofrio of Evans, CO; Scott (Kimberly) Mechler of San Antonio, TX; Brad (Courtney) Mechler of Fredericksburg, TX, Liza (Eric) Huss of Van Horn, TX; great-grandchildren, Brianne (Casey) Cecil, Brittney Jacobs, Riley Hill, Tim Riofrio, Avery Schneider, Kennady Schneider, Calista Kayatta, LJ (James) Mechler, Lyra Mechler, Aubrey Mechler, Matthew Mechler, Lilly Kate Mechler, Cayden Huss, Colton Huss; and her great-great-grandchildren, Ivan Riofrio, Paisley Cecil, Carsyn Cecil, Damian Riofrio, and Berklie Jacobs, and extended family Teresa (Joe) Rodriguez along with their children/grandchildren/great-grand child. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends that she considered family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Eldon, and two sisters, Georgie Ann Bornhoft and Janet Amen.

To Celebrate the Life of Mary, the family will be having a private service.
