

MaryJane Johnson passed away on June 29, 2022. Born on October 15th to Paul and Alice Irene (Estes) Kegresse in Utica, New York, MaryJane was one of 8 sisters. The family moved to California, where MaryJane graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in Concord.
MaryJane married William Dye (deceased) in 1953. They had four daughters: Dayna, Julie, Claudia (deceased) and Carrie.
In 1978 she married Paul Johnson (deceased). They were together 32 happy years. At age 42 MaryJane enrolled in Aims Community College in Greeley, Colorado, where she received an associate degree. She continued her education at the University of Northern Colorado and earned a master's degree. MaryJane taught history at Aims Community College, where she would later become the head of the history department.
MaryJane loved animals and was one of the founders of the Humane Society of Weld County. She loved the ocean, and her favorite spot was the Oregon Coast. She loved anything regarding history, including researching her own roots.
MaryJane is survived by three daughters, Dayna Dye, Julie Dye, Carrie (Dye) Boutwell, son-in-law John Boutwell, granddaughters Holly Dye and Allison (Boutwell) Kunes, and great-grandson Lucas Kunes.
