Matthew was born on February 28, 1983 to David Lee Griego Sr. and Coreen Duran. Matthew attended Colorado High School in Greeley, Colorado.
Following the family’s tradition, Matthew was a brick mason for over 20 years. He became a journeyman at the age of 18.
Matthew was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Greeley, Colorado. He enjoyed cars, rebuilding motors, fishing, camping, spending time with his children and he absolutely loved to watch his Broncos.
Matthew is survived by his mother Coreen Duran; his sons, Matthew Griego Jr. and Marcus Griego; his daughter, Mariana Griego; grandparents Esther and Patrick Cardera; Aunts and Uncles, Lori and Myron Segura and Shellie and Gerald Romero; as well as many cousins and friends.
Matthew was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Leo Griego Jr.; Father, David Lee Griego Sr.; Brother, David Lee Griego Jr.; and close family friend, Jason Archibeque.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on November 4, 2019 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, CO 80634, with a Rosary to follow. Services will be held at 11:30 AM on November 5, 2019 at St. Mary Church, 2222 23rd Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
