

Maxine Eleanor Lynch Brown of Loveland, CO made her transition on September 6, 2015. She was born on February 9, 1923 in Salina, Kansas to Chester R. and Perle Atkinson Lynch. She was the eldest of 8 children. Her parents moved to Denver when she was 13 and she graduated from South High School in 1941. She married Robert E. Chase in 1944 and had 2 daughters, Ellen Kathleen and Susanne. Bob was killed in February of 1948 as a result of a plane crash. She married Ben Griffin in November of 1948 and subsequently had a son, Thomas Edward. Ben passed in 1972. In 1978 she then married Tom Brown. They spent the next almost 30 years happily growing old together. Tom passed in 2008.
Maxine worked for the Aurora Public Library system for 22 years, retiring in 1984 as Business Administrator. After retiring she and Tom moved to 2 acres north of Longmont and enjoyed gardening, fishing, golf and traveling. They then moved to Loveland and were there 5 years before Tom passed. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Ellen Chase of Loveland, Sue Foster of Fort Collins, her son Tom Griffin (Judy) of Cocoa, Florida and step-son T.C. Brown of Golden. She leaves 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Maxine has been a mentor to all of us and we revere her wisdom. We will miss her greatly but know she is on her path and we will see her again. Welcome Home, Mom.
