Mia Alena Torrez, age 32, of Colorado passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Mia was born on October 4, 1992 in Wheatridge, Colorado to Dstry Torrez, and LeNora Soto-Torrez. Mia was an older sister to brother, Xavier, and she was a pillar of the community, routinely aiding the sick and tired using her degree from Pima Medical Institute.
Mia came into this world with fire red hair and a personality to match.
She was a free spirit, drawn to the mountains, her home away from home. She had many passions, including: snowboarding, music, lowriders, oldies, hiking, fishing, camping and motorcycles.
While Mia had a fiery, passionate air about her, she was as gentle as a summer breeze. She wore her heart on her sleeve and regularly provided refugee to those struggling with life’s challenges, irrespective of her own hurt, pain, or sadness. She loved unconditionally, lived empathically, and felt deeply, especially for the estranged, tired, and lonely.
Mia was a ray of sunshine, and she will be missed immensely by those she crossed paths with.
Mia is survived by her dad, Dstry Torrez; mom, LeNora Soto-Torrez; brother Xavier Torrez (Nina); niece, Mariella; grandparents, Joe Soto, Linda Soto, Paul Torrez, and Lionor Torrez; aunts, Yvonne Soto-Sanchez (Dominic), Lynda Soto, and Kim Torrez; uncle, Joe Stoto Jr. (Patty); as well as many cousins.
A visitation for Mia will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 p.m.
