Mildred Ann Simmons, 100, of Greeley, passed away at Bonell Good Samaritan Center. Mildred was born October 30, 1916 in Scott City, Kansas to George and Millie Duncan. She married Norbert Simmons in 1951 in Greeley. They would have celebrated 66 years together this April.
During WWII, Mildred worked as an Assistant at the National Archives in Washington D.C.
Mildred’s father George Duncan started the Greeley Wesleyan Church and where she was a lifetime member. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed knitting, gardening and oil painting.
Mildred is survived by her husband Norbert; daughter Bethel (Curtis) Price; grandchildren Aaron (Heather) Caldwell and Dain Caldwell (Lindsay Snyder) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and four sisters Dorothy, Leola, Wilma and InaBelle.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment will take place at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Greeley Wesleyan Church.
