Myra Ann Krieger

Myra Ann Krieger, 98, of LaSalle, passed away December 2, 2015 at Hospice of Northern Colorado. Myra was born November 8, 1917 in Greeley the oldest of four children to H. Herman and Anna (Stanghor) Meyer. Myra’s mother Anna passed away at her birth so Herman married Martha Stanghor who raised Myra as her own daughter until she passed away.

She graduated from College High in Greeley. Myra married Lloyd O. Krieger in 1940 in Cheyenne, WY and raised 4 wonderful children on their family farm. When their children got older, Lloyd and Myra started the “Rock Shop” in La Salle in 1964 and it is still in operation being run by their son Lynn. There have even been articles written up on Myra as the “Rock Women” and “Book Lady”, since she did a lot

of reading.

Myra has been a member of the Sherwood Park Baptist Church since 1963 where she taught Sunday school and was the “Organist” for many years.

Her family will remember her for her cooking, canning, sewing, gardening, knitting, crocheting, reading her books that were “Westerns and Wild Frontier”. Myra was a farmer’s wife and a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, who will be deeply missed.

Myra is survived by three daughters Andra Hendrie (Randy), JaNean Dill (Larry) and Tamara Sisson (Rick Shannon); one son Lynn Krieger; a sister Charlotte Gaetzke; a brother Jerry Meyer; 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother Anna (Stanghor) Meyer; parents Herman and Martha; husband; Lloyd ; sister Dorothy and great-great grandchild.

Private family service will be held.
