Nancy Charlotte Pittaway, 73, of Brighton, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton. She was born January 21, 1937 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Clyde and Hurley (Cope) Cox. Nancy was raised and attended school in the Fort Morgan, Greeley, and Windsor areas.
In 1961 she was married to Clyde Cortez in Colorado Springs, where they raised two children until later divorcing. Nancy worked for Hewlett Packard until she transferred to the Loveland plant in 1973 when she moved to Greeley with her children. She also began working for K-Mart where she retired from in 2000. In 1972 Nancy was married to James Pittaway in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They lived in Aurora in the early 1990’s and were active on the board of directors for the V.F.W. Post 6184. They later moved to Brighton where James passed away on April 9, 2001. Nancy continued to live there.
Nancy and her husband loved to camp, fish and travel. She enjoyed all family functions, and enjoyed spending time with all of her family, especially her grandchildren and her new great granddaughter. She also enjoyed taking trips with her son on the back of his Harley Davidson along with daughter and
son-in-law.
Survived by her son Clyde Cortez of Brighton; daughter, Lonnie Yslas (Ed) of Eaton; brothers Clyde Cox of Colorado Springs, and Charles “Pete” Cox (Clara) of Evans; her grandchildren Ryan, Tiffany (Derek), Keilei, Michael, Savanna, and Chantel; and one great granddaughter Piper Marli.
Nancy is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, a sister, Viola Craven and a brother James Charles Cox.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th St., Greeley, CO 80634.
