Nathan was born on July 18, 1981, in El Paso Texas, the son of William and Gail (Hays) LaForce. He began elementary school in Sterling, Colorado, and then moved with his family to Evans, Georgia, where he graduated from Evans High School. Nathan later graduated from the University of Georgia – Athens, with a degree in Japanese Language and Literature.
One of the highlights of his life was spending his junior year as a student at the University of Kagoshima, in Kagoshima, Japan, taking classes taught in Japanese. Through the assistance of his homestay family, the Yoshidas, he became immersed in the culture. Even at the time of his death he could speak fluent Japanese, as well as write with Kanji characters. He also enjoyed cooking Asian foods.
Nathan later developed an interest in computers, and after receiving a computer degree from Aims Community College, in Greeley, he began working in that field.
He loved to read, and developed an interest in anime. He would consider himself a gamer, loved D&D, and cosplay. Nathan had a passion for hunting and fishing. He loved to laugh, and appreciated all types of humor. Nathan was a kind, forgiving, and loving person. Nathan always put family before pleasure, and was generous with his time and gift-giving. He loved giving carefully thought-out gifts at Christmas and on birthdays.
Nathan is survived by his father, William LaForce of Greeley, mother, Gail (Hays) LaForce of Lakewood; brother, Joshua LaForce, of Waynesboro, Georgia; and sister, Bethany LaForce-Moore (John) of Greeley, as well as a niece, Alice LaForce, and 2 nephews – Zane LaForce and Samuel Moore. He also loved and enjoyed his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents: Richard and Betty LaForce, and maternal grandparents, Zane and Jenice Hays.
