Nelson “Pat” Steffens, 79, passed away on July 17, 2026. Pat was born March 17, 1947, to Armon & Gladys Steffens in Ft Collins, CO. He graduated from Middle Park High School in Granby, CO in 1965. He attended Lamar Community College for two years following graduation. In 1968, he enlisted in the US Air Force from which he retired in 1988. Some of his favorite assignments were 6 years at Lowry AFB. He also had assignments in Taiwan and Germany.
After retirement he had a newspaper route for the Greeley Tribune until retirement.
Pat was preceded in death by mother, father, and brother Ben Steffens. Pat is survived by youngest brother Steven Steffens (Nel); nieces Kris Hendricks, Marcie Ramsey (Dean), Victoria Steffens, and Julia Stovall; and nephew Pierce DeKoevend. Pat is also survived by grandnieces Alicia Guel (Draya), Amanda Guel (Zion), Austin Steffens (Johanna), Courtney Smith (Ray), and Brittany Fox (Max); great grandnieces Cameron & Kaydence Smith; and great grandnephews Edward Steffens & Bentlee Fox.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10:00 am at Allnutt Macy, 6521 W. 20th St, Greeley, CO followed by a reception. Burial will take place at 1:00 pm at Johnstown Cemetery, 23101 CO Rd 13, Johnstown, CO 80534.
