Patricia ""Pat"" L. Soderberg

Patricia (Pat) Loy Soderberg (nee Borgmann) was born on October 25, 1929 in Longmont, CO and grew up in the shadow of Longs Peak. The eldest child of Walter H. Borgmann and Edna L. Slee, Pat always put family first. With great joy, she spent the last days of her life surrounded by her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Pat entered the arms of her loving Savior peacefully and with great faith on April 30th, 2016.

Patricia L. Borgmann married Ralph A. Soderberg on October 10, 1948, having met each other while working at The Baldpate Inn in Estes Park. She prepared food in the kitchen and he ran horses with his brother Carl. The time Pat spent in the mountains solidified her love of nature and the native flowers and animals of Colorado. A few years after their marriage Pat and Ralph sold all their possessions to travel Europe, a trip which started their lifelong love of travel. Pat and Ralph spent much of their 57 year marriage sightseeing. Pat used her voyages to hone her skills as a photographer. The couple’s love for exploration inspired the same in their children and grandchildren, all of whom went on to do their own globetrotting.

She was a tremendous hostess who organized many joyful holidays and family reunions at her home. Her love of cooking and baking made Pat and Ralph’s house a memorable place for the family to eat, rest and surround themselves with love.

Pat played a key role in Ralph’s business Soderberg Masonry. She took pride in her bookkeeping and office management skills. Pat and Ralph retired to Bonita Springs, Florida, splitting their time between Florida and Colorado until Ralph's death.

She spent her later years as a member of church communities through which she made many special friends. Keeping a strict schedule for herself, Pat spent Tuesdays with her friends at coffee while reserving Fridays for her hair and nail appointments.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother Dave Borgmann, and her brother Ralph Borgmann. She is survived by her children Mark Soderberg of Fort Collins and Lynn (Bob) DeCamp of Fort Collins. Patricia cherished her grandchildren, Karsten (Catherine) Roberts of San Francisco, CA; Robert Solomon (Rachel Emming) DeCamp of Anderson, SC; Samuel T. DeCamp of San Francisco, CA; Krista Ellen Ford of Kiev, Ukraine; Erik Soderberg of Fort Collins; and Melanie Soderberg of Northglenn. Patricia was blessed to have spent time with one great-grandchild, Porter Freya, daughter of Karsten & Catherine. Pat was also loved and adored by sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Charitable donations can be made in Pat's memory to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the American Diabetes Association and the Arthritis Foundation.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Timberline Church, 2908 S. Timberline Road, Fort Collins.
