Pauline Delgado

March 15, 1935January 13, 2021

Pauline Mae Delgado entered into rest on January 13, 2021. Polly was born March 15, 1935 to Frank and Dorothy Landis in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, the oldest of 4 children. When she was still young and impressionable a dashing and handsome young man from Santa Fe swept her off her feet, married her, and moved her to Greeley. They made their home in Greeley, raising their five children and becoming a vital part of the community. Polly embraced her life making lots of friends with whom she connected until the very end of her life. She worked at Joslins for many years where she set many sales records.

After all five kids were grown and gone, she and Ernie travelled extensively with friends and family. She had many endearing qualities, among which were an uncanny ability to always steer us in the right direction (whether we agreed or not). She was always beautifully dressed and groomed, had a great sense of what was good and right and loved her family above all else. She was a faithful and dedicated member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where she worshipped and glorified her Lord, serving as a Eucharistic minister. We’ll miss her smile, her laugh, her generosity, her undying love for us, her acceptance, her tolerance, and her opinions. We’ll forever remember not what she did, but how she made us feel. She loved us in all our frailties and she’ll have a place in our hearts forever.

Polly was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, her husband Ernie, and her son David. She is survived by her sister Barbara, her children; Susan (Doug), Steve (Holly), Tom (Jennifer), and Jill (Tommy). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley (Nate), Adam, Amber (Jonathan), Tyler, Jason, Jocelyn, Anthony, Caroline, and Tate. Additionally she leaves her great grandchildren, Kennedy, Graham, and Elena.

There will be a mass for Christian burial on February 26, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church at 11:00 am, followed by inurnment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th St., Greeley, CO, 80634.

Dear Susan, Steve, Tom and Jill -
Extending our condolences and sincere sympathy for the loss of your mom. We also share empathy as we understand the numbness of being caught between grief and relief, hoping it quickly dissolves into the comfort of fond memories and the recognition that your mom felt safe as you have always been there for her.

We always wish you well
Sue and Pat

Going to Terry Bison ranch on a bus tour. We sat together. I was totally taken by Polly’s sincerity and kindness. You just knew she was good through and through. Years ago I had worked with her son Steve. He was so lucky to have her as a mother

The Lakin family has many fond memories of living a few homes up the street from the Delgado family. Many good memories from the past were shared by Ernie and Frank as they were both from
Santa Fe New Mexico. Ernie and Polly were a loving example of parents with their family during those early years. Sending many good wishes and condolences to all the Delgados in your loss. Polly has certainly earned her place in heaven. Best wishes to all as you share your family memories together in her honor.
