

Providence “Susie” Adams, 92, of Greeley, died January 25, 2015 at Garden Square in Greeley. Susie was born January 18, 1923 in Tunis, Tunisia, North Africa. She attended school in Tunis where she graduated High School. She attended North Eastern Junior College in Sterling. She met Wiley Adams while he was stationed in North Africa with the United States Air Force. They married in Tunis in 1945 and moved to the United States after the war.
After moving to the United States, Susie worked at the J & L Café and Bluebird Café. She later worked as a Book Keeper for Montgomery Ward and then for the family business, Adams TV and Appliance. Susie was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Sterling. She was fluent in English, French and Italian, often speaking all three in one conversation. Her siblings remained in Tunisia, Italy and France and she visited them whenever possible.
Susie is survived by her daughter Jeannette (George) Zeilinger of Ogallala, Nebraska; son Phillip (Diane) Adams of Greeley; 6 grandchildren Nick Hoier of Colorado Springs, Taylor Hoier of Lincoln, Nebraska, Dylan Adams, Jordan Adams, Westin Adams and Evan Adams all of Greeley. She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2015 at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling, Colorado.
