Raul Alaniz Jr., 32, of Greeley, died July 13, 2012 in Greeley. He was born November 9, 1979 in Greeley, Colorado to Raul Sr. and Marisela (Cirlos) Alaniz. He was raised in Greeley where he also attended school. On October 13, 2005 he married Jennifer Nino in Greeley.
Raul loved cars and working on them. He also loved the outdoors, hiking, rafting, fishing and boating. He was baptized at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church where he took his first communion. He loved landscaping and took a great deal of pride making things beautiful. He loved making people laugh and was the life of the gathering wherever he was. He made countless friends and loved meeting new people. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved his family and gave the best hugs. He dearly loved his daughter and had wished he could have spent more time with her.
Raul is survived by his wife Jennifer Nino, of Windsor; daughter Evangelina M. Alaniz of Windsor; Parents Raul Alaniz Sr. (Maria) of Greeley and Marisela Aguilar (Paulo) of Platteville; Grandparents Antonio and Juanita Cirlos of Windsor; sisters Linda Alaniz of Boise, Idaho and Veronica Witman (Doug) of Greeley; brothers Freddie Alaniz (Vanessa) and Jamie Alaniz (Sierra) all of Platteville. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and several step-brothers and step-sisters. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Antero Sr. and Beatriz Alaniz; uncles Antero Alaniz Jr. and Jose Carlos Alaniz and aunt Olga Rivas.
Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
