Ray was raised in Fort Collins. On June 30, 1961 Ray Married Elva Gonzales in Compton, California. Ray served in the Army National Guard from 1963 to 1965. Ray was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was Ray’s favorite past time; together they enjoyed reminiscing. Ray enjoyed fishing, camping and jig-saw puzzles.
Ray is survived by his wife, Elva; three children, Ray Gonzales, Jr. (Shine), Christy Gonzales and Linda Lilly (Jerry); sister-in-law, Annabel Gonzales; niece and nephews (Knapp), Bobbie Rivera (Louie), Jim Knapp (Debbie) and Jerry (Theresa) Knapp; nieces and nephews (Gonzales), Shirley Martinez (Horace), Pam Chavez (Joe), Joanna Gonzales, Annette Gonzales, Conrad Gonzales, Tim Gonzales (Bobbie), Joseph Gonzales (Jeanie), Anthony Gonzales (Karen); four grandchildren, Desirae, Stephanie, Larissa and Kacie; six great-grandchildren, Leyanna, Warren, Kyleigh, Dayton, Saniya and Zayla. Ray is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Juanita Boggs, Frank Gonzales and Manuel Gonzales; nephew, Richard “Chief” Knapp.
