He attended Greeley High School (now Greeley Central) and graduated in 1949. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy in 1950 and served until 1954. He was stationed in Japan and California.
On November 14, 1953 he married Ruth Lind of Windsor, Colorado. They were married for 63 years.
After leaving the Navy he attended Colorado State College of Education (now University of Northern Colorado) graduating in 1956.
He was employed at Weld County Garage and Flatiron Materials Company as Office Manager. In 1971, he went to work for Garnsey and Wheeler Ford as Business Manager - Accounting and retired from there in 1994.
He is survived by daughter Lynda Nuss of Loveland and son Alan Nuss of Arvada. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, his parents, his brother Donald and sister Lois
