Rebecca “Becky” Schmidt, 66 of Greeley, died on February 28, 2019 at Medical Center of the Rockies after a long battle with illnesses. She was born in Long Beach, California on February 23, 1953, to Elmo and June (Sappington) Peterson.
Becky graduated from Greeley West High School in 1971 and worked most of her career in the accounting field. She worked at Sunrise Community Health Center, and then the City of Greeley until August 2018.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spoiling many fur babies throughout her life. Becky was known for her nurturing spirit, and always had an ear to lend; a hug to give; or advice for those she knew.
Becky is survived by daughters; Leslie (Kaleigh) Schmidt of Greeley, Colorado, and Stacie Schmidt of Olympia, Washington; sister Joyce (James) Dahlke of Tucson, Arizona; and brother, Robert Peterson of Phoenix, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Atlas Theater, 709 16th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80631.
