F. Reuben Dieterle, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018, in Westminster, CO at the age of 95. He was born in Ault CO, April 9, 1923, to German-Russian immigrants, David and Katherine (Rink) Dieterle. He attended school in Barnesville and Kersey. Reuben resided in Greeley until August, 2017, when he moved to Westminster to be closer to family.
On April 20, 1944, Reuben married his sweetheart, Lavaun Hyde. To this union were born two daughters, Marilyn and Jeanne. They enjoyed 68 years together before she passed away in 2012,
Farming was his career until the early 1950s when he began building homes, eventually owning Reuben-Dieterle Contractor. His work exists around the Greeley area in numerous single-family homes and multi-family units. He was past president of Northern Colorado Home Builders Association. Reuben retired in 1988. He later drove the Rocky Mountain Shuttle to Denver International Airport as his retirement part time job.
Serving God was of utmost importance to Reuben. For many years he was a member of Greely Baptist Temple and later attended Faith Bible Baptist Church. He held the positions of deacon and Sunday School Superintendent and taught Bible classes.
Reuben and Lavaun enjoyed traveling with family and friends, especially to Europe, Mexico, Las Vegas and California. He was an avid sports fan, playing basketball and baseball in his youth, plus softball and bowling later on. Watching the Rockies, Broncos and Nuggets was his favorite pastime.
Reuben is survived by his daughters, Marilyn (Tim) Klussman and Jeanne (Keith) Heimbuck; grandchildren, Jodell Wingo, Marc (Dena) Klussman, Gregory (Tammy) Heimbuck, Melia Heimbuck, Caroline Clevenger; great-grandchildren, Alyson (Pascal Denis) Johnson, Wade, Kayla and Cole Klussman, Liliana Heimbuck and Adeline, Eliot and Evelyn DeeMurrie; sisters, Dorothy Heinz and Goldie Glover and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and nine brothers and sisters.
The family wishes to thank the staff of The Retreat at Church Ranch and Dignity Hospice for their tender loving care given to our loved one.
Visitation will be at from 1-2:00 P.M. Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel in Greeley.
Service will be held at the 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel in Greeley, CO.
Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
