We were very sorry to hear of Dick’s illness and passing.  Our connection with Dick and Ruth was through the Friday Niters Dance Club.  Dick was warm, friendly, outgoing, and could make people laugh.  It was joyful to watch Dick and Ruth on the dance floor.  You two looked so happy together and knew how to have fun, and you danced with great joy and flair!  As surely as Dick leaves a hole in his family, he will leave a hole in our dance club.  We will miss seeing you, too, Ruth.  May you and all of Dick’s family find peace and healing during this sad time, and may you hold all the happy memories in your hearts.  We extend our heartfelt sympathy to all of you.

We are saddened to learn that Dick passed away. One of the first members we met joining Newcomers in Estes Park, Dick was engaging and always ready to hike, dine, laugh freely and extend his friendship. Dick never turned down a glass of fine wine!
All times with Dick and Ruth were memorable. They loved performances done by local theater companies and thanked the cast for their hard work. Dick was very knowledgeable about science and history and discussions would go into the earlier morning hours.
Dick lived a full life and enjoyed all of it. He will be missed by family and friends and those he touched...

Dick, Ruth, and I enjoyed some mountain climbing together.  I enjoyed his company, robust laugh, zest for living life to the fullest. Dick's remarkable way of telling an event in such a way you felt like you were there.  His love for his new family, Ruth, Jevan, Faith, and Evelyn was beautiful.  Dick loved the outdoors.  He will be missed.  May he find peace in God's loving arms.

Molly and I met Dick at the end of August, 1979; we had just moved into our new home in Chadds Ford, PA and he and Sally into theirs down the street.  We were among the first people in the new development so we got to know each other quickly.  I found that he and I shared an interest in red wine, scotch and cognac, as well as good food to go with them - the four of us went out to eat or entertained each other until Dick and Sally split and we subsequently moved to the eastern shore of Maryland, where he visited periodically.  After we retired to NM and he retired, he was intent on living in Colorado, and in quest of a retirement home there he would stop by en route until he found his ideal home in Estes Park.  The first photo I uploaded was from our visit there.  Not long after settling there he met Ruth and let us know that they were compatible and he hoped it would last.  Dick and Ruth visited us in NM and we them in Estes.  We kept in touch; a year ago he told me of his illness and decision to marry Ruth, and we were happy to see them again at their wedding.
We will all miss him.

I was sad to hear of Dick passing. He had struggled with such a cruel disease. Dick will be missed by all that knew him! He brought a great love to my sister! We enjoyed a fun week end in Winter Park for a music concert with my daughter and son-in-law's family while his health was good.. Dick lived a good life!
