Richard Rodriguez Trevino, 62, of Kersey died Friday, October 19, 2018 at Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. He was born on July 8, 1956 in Littlefield, Texas to Guemcindo and Petra (Rodriguez) Trevino.
Richard was raised in Littlefield, Texas. The family later moved to Weld County in 1987, settling in Kersey. He then married Virginia Porras On January 21, 2007 in Greeley.
Richard enjoyed farming, driving his semi-trucks, grilling and was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos. He also enjoyed making his fried potatoes. Richard loved Tejano music. Most importantly Richard loved his family and his grandchildren. He grew up in the Catholic faith.
Richard is survived by his wife Virginia, four daughters, Ricarda Trevino, Felicia Trevino (Abraham Flores), Teresa Trujillo (Cesar Vargas), all of Greeley, and Sylvia Rodriquez (Jesus) of Evans; four sisters Victoria Cristan (Pete) of Littlefield, Texas, Amelia Torres (Daniel) of Evans, Cecilia Huerta, and Mickey Trevino (Margaret), all of Greeley; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Richard is preceded in death by parents; Guemcindo and Petra Trevino; two daughters, Naomi Trevino and Martina Salazar; and a brother Guemcindo “Geronimo” Trevino, Jr.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, October 26, 2018 followed with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm, both at Stoddard Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1311 3rd Street, Greeley. Inurnment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, at a later date.
