Richard Allen “Ric” Wertenberger, 64, of Eaton, Colorado passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020 in Eaton. He was born December 15, 1955 at General Rose Memorial Hospital in Denver, Colorado to Richard and Ruth Wertenberger.
Ric graduated from Colorado University in Boulder, Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.
During his college years, Ric and his buddies started a landscaping business called MRS Landscaping. After college, he worked in commercial real estate and later started his own company, RAW Oil & Gas Inc., kicking off his career as a Petroleum Landman.
Ric enjoyed playing many sports growing up and later became a Black Belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. He was a very loving husband and father. He loved being involved in his kids’ lives and hobbies, including being a coach for their Softball and Soccer teams, raising animals for them to show in 4H and never missing a game, recital or event they participated in. He loved bowling and playing golf with his family as well as being an Auxiliary Member at the VFW Post 6624 in Evans, Colorado.
Ric is survived by his wife, Tammie Wertenberger; children, Tiffnee Lamb (Myles) and Richard Wertenberger both of Eaton; two brothers, Gary Wertenberger of Grand Junction, Colorado and Michael Wertenberger of Ignacio, Colorado; two brothers-in-law, Harold Haines and Kevin Cook both of Greeley, Colorado; eight nieces and nephews, Garrett, Ariel, Gavin, Stephan, Danielle, Courtney, Paige and Andy and six great-nieces and nephews, Alexis, Kianna, Jalen, Aidan, Audrey and Chelsea.
Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2020 at Northern Colorado Cowboy Church, 33131 Highway 85, Lucerne, Colorado. Private Family Burial at Eaton Cemetery.
