The memorial service on Saturday April 28th, 2007 has been re-scheduled from 2:00 to 3:00pm at Paramount Baptist Church on Marsh Pike in Hagerstwon, Md.

There will be a memorial service celebrating the life of Robert Willis Couchenour on Saturday April 28th, 2007 2:00pm at Paramount Baptist Church on Marsh Pike in Hagerstwon, Md. Reception following at the church.

The passing of Bob caught me off guard. Having worked with Bob for several years before his retirement, I will remember fondly a lot of his antics. Everyone who knew Bob, knew his favorite saying, "" there are people that you know, and there are people that you don't know"". I think those in the Bluegrass music will remember him fondly. I still can see him standing staring at the work schedule for what it seemed hours. Bob, you will be missed.

I will always remember Uncle Bob with fond and loving memories as he has taken his final walk to be with our Father in Heaven.  He will be missed, however he is now reunited with the rest of our family members that preceded him. We are never prepared for the loss of a loved one, but God is always prepared to help us through that loss. May His presence begin the healing in your heart and soul, and may His love surround you with the comfort only He can give.

My heart is saddened and my eyes full of tears as I hear of Uncle Bob's passing.  I can only imagine that he has soared high on eagle's wings to a glorious family reunion and eternal life in Heaven that the Lord our Savior has promised us. It is our memories that sustain us and help us through this difficult time.  A man full of wisdom, wit, and mischieveous laughter has left us here on earth to grieve.  That Catherine Couchenour twinkle in his eyes has now been dimmed for we who remember.  My deepest sympathy to Aunt Evelyn, Bobbie Dale, David, Cindy Lou, Debbie, and their families.  Be at peace, Uncle Bob, as you now are reunited with our Jim Dandy, another bright star!  I love you!  Little Bonnie

It is now that I sit here with saddened heart. Looking back on many years and memories of my Uncle Bob. I live in the house he was born in and it is now that I feel his presents, along with his Mom, Dad, Sisters,Brother & Jim Dandy.Tear fill my eyes as I remember him playing with me when I was a child ,whether it be here in North Irwin or when we would visit him in Maryland. I can see that crooked smile of his.  Not one time can I remember him without that smile. I hold you close to my heart and will cherish every memory that I have of you. Travel your new journey now and I will see you on the other side.I love you deeply and will miss you always.

Peace to all those who knew and loved Bobpop.  May the journey begin.

Bob Couchenour is my Grandpa whom I?'ve always called Bob-Pop. As I write this I find it very difficult to sum up the feelings I have for him in fewer than 1000 characters. He taught me to fish, taught me about patience, faith, love, forgiveness and the value of a humble spirit. Most of the good attributes I now have can be traced back to the words of wisdom he shared with me while in the RV, in the cab of his pickup, at the cabin or in the middle of a lake in his boat.
I have many stories I?'d like to share about my Bob-Pop but will wrap things up with telling you about the Indian known as Falling Rock. As we traveled from Maryland to Colorado the summer I turned seven we saw many signs that said ?""Falling Rock?"". Bob-Pop told me of the Indian boy named Falling Rock that had gone missing many years ago, every time someone spotted him they were to report the sighting to the state patrol so that a sign could be posted in hopes of finding him and getting him back to his family. I remember going through canyons looking intently (and quietly) into the rocks for any sign of the missing Indian. I never did see him, but to this day whenever I see a ?""Falling Rock?"" sign, if you look carefully you might catch me casually glancing into the rocks looking for the missing Indian. 
I pray that this story causes you to look to the mountains every time you see a falling rock sign and search for Falling Rock while remembering the man I call Bob-Pop, whom I love and miss.

Bob worked with most of my coworkers at Seneca Plant. They hold fond memories of him since having worked with him here in Germantown, MD. Our condolences to all his family and friends.

It was a joy to work with Bob at the Seneca plant over the years.  I treasure the memory of my friendship with you.  You helped me become a better operator.  You will be missed.

I have many fond memories of Bob.He was like a father to many of us young (back then) and rambuntious
operators. B.C will be missed but always remembered.
