

Robin was born on November 26th, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana and spent her life serving the children and families of Wyoming and Colorado as a child psychiatrist. Passionate about her work, Robin was beloved and respected by her patients and her colleagues alike. In addition to her career, Robin was intensely creative. She sang, danced, and played piano; she loved to paint and craft; and she immortalized family memories in beautiful scrapbooks. A champion debater for the University of Wyoming, Robin also brought her wealth of knowledge to the next generation by coaching and judging high school speech and debate in Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mike Shoumaker, and is survived by her daughters Caroline Whitaker (Matt Grantz), Colleen Kleppinger, Christina Kleppinger, and Caitlin Kleppinger; stepdaughters Jennifer Mayer (Jason Mayer) and Amanda Shoumaker; mother-in-law Joyce Shoumaker; brother Joseph Eicher (Bev Eicher); niece Erika Rainwater (Lance Rainwater); grandchildren Ryley Whitaker, Reese Whitaker, Alyssa Mayer, Branden Mayer, Tanor Rainwater, and Huntor Rainwater (Courtney Rainwater); and many other beloved family members and friends.
Throughout her life, Robin was dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, justice, and taking care of those around her.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to St. Joseph’s Children’s Home in Torrington, Wyoming.
