Ronald Frederick Breuer

Ron was born on the family farm in Glen Haven, WI on March 2, 1936 to Roland and Agnes (Dresen) Breuer. He was the sixth of nine children. As the youngest of the boys, he was his mom’s helper in the house and his sister recalls that he was the most “soft hearted” of the boys. He loved horses and took his sisters for trail rides as well as participating in the Saddle Club. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1954.

Ron married Rosemary Prew in February of 1958 and they went on to have seven children. He farmed in the early years of having children before becoming a truck driver. During their time living in McGregor, IA he was a volunteer firefighter and EMT. In 1978 they began a new adventure and moved their family to Greeley, CO, where he continued his career as a truck driver until his retirement.

In May of 1989 Ron married Joy Reynolds. They shared a love for helping others and spent their retirement years serving the homeless population through their charity, “Greeley for God.” As Ron’s health declined, Joy lovingly cared for him until her death in 2023.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Roland and Agnes Breuer; siblings Sister Roland (née Mary Ann Breuer), Charles Breuer, Ruth Bausch, Verna Mergen, Burnell Breuer, and Colleen Kreger; Wife Alois Joy Breuer; and a grandson, Daniel Breuer Jr.

Ron is survived by sisters Judith Lanphier (Don Mercure) and Rosemary Appleby (John); children Daniel Breuer (Margaret), Lawrence Breuer (Tina), Michael Breuer (Patricia), Kenneth Breuer (Sheri), Debora Spaulding (Evan), Aaron Breuer (Cristan), and Eric Breuer (Kristie); grandchildren Katherine, Perry, Matthew, Jeffery, Jonathan, Chelsea, Christian, Kole and Alisa; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind stepdaughter JoAnne Goad (Ernest), two stepsons, 14 step grandchildren and 16 step great-grandchildren.
