Ron was born on August 21, 1932 in Seward, Nebraska, to Herman and Antoinette (Feelhaver) Otto. He graduated from Concordia High School in Seward before earning a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver. In 1950, he moved with his family to Colorado, where he would build a life centered on faith, family, and service.
From 1953 to 1956, Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army in Okinawa and was honorably discharged. Following his military service, he began a 39-year career with the Bartels and Noe Agency in Greeley, where he was a part owner and valued colleague.
Family was the cornerstone of Ron's life. He took pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments and cherishing every opportunity to be together. The family cabin held a special place in his heart, serving as a gathering place for generations of loved ones. One of his favorite memories was spending a summer alongside his son, Mike, remodeling the cabin together.
A devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ron faithfully served on numerous church boards throughout the years. After retiring, he continued his lifelong commitment to serving others by volunteering for many years at North Colorado Medical Center and working as a process server.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Arlene Otto; his children, Amy Harvey and Mike Otto (Jill); his grandchildren, Mallory Choate, Mic Otto, Austin Harvey, Robbie Otto, Margaret Miller, and Emery Otto; and his seven great-grandchildren, Warren, Gracie, Talia, Elise, Easton, Maxwell, and Matthew. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Otto, many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Antoinette Otto; his brother, Richard Otto; his sister, Elaine Walter; his in-laws, Sam and Hazel Reichert; and his son-in-law, Gordon Harvey.
