

Rose Marie was raised in San Luis with two sisters and one brother. She attended school in Ault when she moved there with her family. She met her husband, Zacarias “Zack” Roybal when she was 13 years old and they became teenage sweethearts and were married on February 4, 1952 at Our Lady of Peach Catholic Church in Greeley where they are still members today. They lived in Denver and had three daughters. They moved to Greeley in 1967 which has been their home for 50 years. Rose Marie was a housewife her entire life. She was an excellent cook and will be remembered for her famous homemade tortillas and sopapillas. She kept an immaculate house and enjoyed raising her three daughters and loved her grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids. Rose Marie loved her weekend camping trips with her family and extended family. She loved dancing and enjoyed going with her husband, her sisters, brothers-in-law and her brother and sister-in-law.
Rose Marie is survived by her husband, Zacarias “Zack” Roybal, Greeley; daughters, Marlene Roybal, Linda Roybal and Barbara Roybal Lessman all of Greeley; sisters, Ida Aragon, Evans, CO and Dolly (Herman) Garcia, Greeley; brother, Floyd Lopez, Cheyenne, WY; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2017, followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m., both at Stoddard Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, January 13, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
