I've been out of state for quite awhile. I was looking for Roy's contact information so that I could refer my daughter to him for insurance.  I was deeply saddened when I came across this obituary announcement. Roy was a great person to do business with. He made me feel like I was his friend. I truly believe that we were friends. I enjoyed my friendship with Roy.

I was just notified today about Roy's passing. He was our insurance agent when we lived in Estes Park in the 90's. Our son was still a customer of Roy's even though he now lives in Alabama. We are so very sad for Roy's family, and for the untimely loss of such a kind and gentle man.

I was shocked and saddened to here of Roy's passing. He was my insurance agent for several years and I saw him in his office just a day or two before his death. He seemed fine and was one of the nicest people I knew. He will be missed. My condolences to his family. God bless.

Our family is so sorry to hear about Roy's passing. He was our insurance agent for 9+ years helping us with our first home, insuring rings for our wedding, and much more. Roy will be remembered by our entire family.  Over the years Roy became not only our families insurance agent but a dear friend.  I  was always taken by Roy's day to day DECISION to chose right over wrong.  He has made a huge impact on my life.  He was a great man and if there is a heaven he is there.

I am so sorry to hear about Roy passing away.  The first thing that came to my mind was when he taught a marriage class at ECC and he had us look at each other and
say, ""So what I hear you saying is...""  I still use that today not only in my marriage but also at my work.

A funny story I remember was in a sermon that he did.  He said that you always need to be careful what you do because you are always being seen by someone.  He said that he was picking his nose in the car and happened to look over at the car next to him and there was someone from church looking at him.  He said he was very embarrassed. 

He had such a great sense of humor and was a very kind, gentle man.  I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing..I grew up in the Presbyterian church family in Hallock MN, where Roy's father served as our minister for many years.Many blessings to his family.

We have good memories of starlit nights around campfires at Wilderness Ranch. Roy always joined in the fun. His gentle voice, his fishing pole, his earnest conversations with George on the porch...blessings on all of you as you remember, grieve and celebrate Roy.

The Padillas

Among my fondest memories of Roy is the time I spent with him as he taught me to lead the children's ministry at ECC years ago. We spent many hours working together to make that ministry one that was special for the little ones at the church. That was a wonderful time for me!
I also remember his telling about taking Katie to a ballgame when she was a small girl. She was having a lovely time with her dad, enjoying the food, sights and sounds. They were well into the game when Katie asked Roy, ""What are those guys doing down there?""

How shocked and saddened we were to learn of Roy's passing. I worked with Roy a lot in children's ministry at ECC, and my own children all adored him. He was such a caring, gentle person who made each child, no matter their age feel loved and listened to. Our daughter, Lindsey was good friends with Katie when they were preschoolers, and our oldest daughter, Laurie enjoyed mission trips with Roy, John and Phyllis as leaders. Roy always saw the best in people, and we were all privileged to get to spend the time with him that we did all those years ago.

Christine, Katie, Sam and family, we know how much he will be missed by your family. May the steadfastness of God's strength and His comfort give you peace.

Oh my goodness, Alex shared the news with us before I saw it.  I remember always thinking what a great and enthusiastic dad Roy was when Alex was going through Cub Scouts with him. I am so very sad and shocked to read this. Roy was such a wonderful man. I have some many memories of him: babysitting the kids in the nursery at church, going on mission trips with him and Pastor John, buying our dream home and he is our insurance agent. But my most special memory is that he was the one who married us July 24, 1999. So wonderful to have him there that day. Sending lots of hugs and prayers to his family.  He loved you more than anything and always loved talking about you all to anyone and everyone.  I'm so very sorry for such a tremendous loss. I will always remember Roy as a kind, gentle, loving man.  When he served at Council Tree (Evangelical) Covenant, he was always ready to listen and give a thoughtful response.  Roy and Christine and their children spoke love and grace into my life when I was going through a difficult time.
