Roy attended St. Norbert's High School and then Marquette University graduating with a degree in accounting. Roy eventually retired as the CFO of Lextron, Inc. in 2002. Roy served in the National Guard from 1957-1963.
He was married to Janet Valuch from 1959-1983 until they divorced. He married Jone Raney in 1989.
Growing up, Roy worked at his family's inn and bar and a local bowling alley setting pins when that was done by hand. He broke his finger and the splint he used was a cherished Christmas tree ornament while his kids were growing up! He also played basketball and baseball. As the oldest of five children, he was always looking after his siblings.
Roy always had his nose in a book, as he just loved to read. He and Jone enjoyed travelling to Italy, Greece, China, Mexico, the Caribbean and Hawaii. Their favorite vacation activity was scuba diving. They also attended the grandkids' sporting events, choir performances, and theatre performances. He loved to watch old westerns especially starring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Roy enjoyed watching sports, he especially loved the Denver Broncos and the Green Bay Packers.
