Ruth Ann Doll

Ruth was born on October 9, 1940, to Hubert and Scholastica (Rennier) Seiler. She grew up in Stringtown, Illinois, where she attended elementary school before graduating from East Richland High School in 1958. At the age of 9, helped care for her younger brothers after the passing of their mother.

While in school, Ruth met the love of her life, Ronald Doll. The two were married in 1962, beginning a partnership that would span a lifetime. They purchased a farm in 1966 and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and farming.

Ruth and Ron were blessed with four children: Pam, Brian, Janet, and Roger. While raising their family Ruth worked alongside Ron on the farm, setting irrigation water, helping sows deliver piglets, tending garden, and canning and preserving the harvest each year. There was never a task too difficult or beneath her. She simply did what needed to be done to care for her family.

Ruth was known for her exceptional cooking and baking. Holidays and birthdays were made even more special by the creative cakes she lovingly decorated. Her creativity extended beyond the kitchen. Ruth was an accomplished quilter, knitter, crocheter, and seamstress. She was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, where she shared her talents by quilting with fellow parishioners.

More than anything, Ruth cherished watching her children and grandchildren grow, celebrating birthdays and holidays, and creating a home where everyone always felt welcome.

Ruth is survived by her children, Pam (Frank) Pink, Brian (Judy) Doll, and Roger (Beth) Doll; her grandchildren, Michel Pink, Kurtis Pink, Kiel Pink, Eric Pink, John Pink, Brendon (Ilona) Cathalan, Nicole (Nate) Burnal, and Isaac Doll; her brothers, George Seiler and Carl (Deb) Seiler, sister-in-law Hermine Seiler; and numerous nieces, nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Doll; her daughter, Janet Doll; her parents, her sister, Betty Frohning, and brother-in-law Roy Frohning; and her brother, John Seiler.

Ruth's life was one of quiet strength, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
