Ruth Maxine Hoagland

Ruth Maxine Hoagland, 86, of Greeley, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Grace Pointe Care Center. Ruth was born on September 29, 1926 on the Goller Homeplace in Hanston, Kansas to Andrew Levi and Sarah Mae (Ely) Goller. She was one of 11 children.

Ruth attended Hanston Grade School and Hanston High School but graduated from Jetmore High. On September 5, 1943, she married Howard Lee Hoagland on the Goller Homeplace in Hanston.

She worked for Wards in Eldorado, Kansas from 1969-1972. She then worked at Weld County Hospital. She was a member of the Methodist church. Ruth enjoyed sewing, reading and ceramics. She and her husband built a cabin in the mountains, which they thoroughly enjoyed with friends and family.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Judith (Gary) Salmans of Eldorado; two sons, Ron (Darlene) Hoagland and Rick Hoagland all of Greeley; three sisters, Mary King of San Diego, California, Fern Gibbs of Jetmore, Kansas and Ada Henrickson of Garden City, Kansas; one brother, Dale (Nancy) Goller of Sacramento, California; ten grandchildren, Laura (Alfie) Holz of Eldorado, Gary E. Jr. (Alexis) Salmans of St. Louis, Missouri, Greg (Tina) Salmans of Hugoton, Kansas, Heather Maddox of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Ryan A. (Beth) Hoagland of Santa Clara, California, Anthony W. Hoagland of Omaha, Nebraska, Larissa R. Rothe of Kansas City, Kansas, Darcie Moseley of Greeley, Devin (Amber) Fischer of Westminster and Rachel (Eli) Pace of Fort Morgan and 14 great-grandchildren, Brianna and Garrett Hotz of Eldorado, Aimee Harris of Virginia Beach, Gabrielle and Garron Salmans of St. Louis, Olivia and Blake Salmans of Hugoton, Elise and Erin Hoagland of Santa Clara, CA, Fischer and Malia Moseley of Greeley and Weston, Eric and Isabel Pace of Fort Morgan.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Al Goller, Andrew Goller, Jr. and George Goller, three sisters, Faye Powell, Eva Williams and Ella Strawn, her parents and her husband.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery.
