Ryan Ray Schoneman

Ryan was born on January 18, 1978, in Greeley, Colorado, to Burt and Deborah (Olin) Schoneman. He was raised on the family farm, Olin Farms, where he developed a deep love for the land and farming. He continued farming there throughout his life, carrying on a family tradition that meant so much to him.

In February 1997, Ryan met Christine “Chrissy” Hope. They were married on October 18, 1997, and together they built a life filled with love, family, hard work, and countless memories. In 2006, they welcomed their daughter, Trinity, who became the light of Ryan’s life. He took great pride in teaching Trinity all about the farm, passing along his knowledge and love of the land. Their shared connection to farming was something truly special.

Ryan, Chrissy, and Trinity also shared a love of riding in the Sand Dunes. Each year, those trips became Ryan’s time to escape, relax, and enjoy making memories with the people he loved most.

Outside of farming, Ryan enjoyed shooting, fishing, and spending time with his buddies.The shop door was always open, and friends knew they could stop in and have a cold beer with Ryan. He was easygoing, welcoming, and a friend to all. If someone needed a

hand, Ryan would drop whatever he was doing to help. He had a gift for fixing just about anything and never hesitated to lend his time, his knowledge, or his tools to someone in need. He helped others without complaint and never expected anything in return.

Ryan was ornery in the best way and loved to tease those around him. His quick wit, generous heart, willingness to help, and ability to make people feel welcome will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Shirley Olin; parents, Burt and Deborah Schoneman; his brother, Evan Schoneman; his good friend and brother-at-heart, Clint Brownwood; and grandparents Albert Schoneman, and Maryann Breickler.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Christine Schoneman; daughter, Trinity Schoneman (Dakota Farnam); brother, Aaron Schoneman; parents-in-law, Mike and Kathy Hope; sister-in-law, Wendi Meyer (Curt); nieces, Paige White (Jamison), Chloe Meyer, and Kynlee Schoneman; nephews, Wyatt Meyer and Kolten Schoneman; aunt, Kim Nix; and many close friends and extended family members who were blessed to know him.

Ryan leaves behind a legacy of hard work, friendship, generosity, and love for his family and the land he called home. His memory will live on in the farm he cared for, the lessons he passed down, the friends he helped, and, most of all, in the hearts of his family and loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 1:00 pm. at First United Methodist Church in Platteville.
