Sandra Kay Wagner, 61, of Evans, died February 25, 2013 at her home. She was born May 22, 1951 in Denver, Colorado to Ruben and Mariam Ruth (Meng) Baumgartner. Sandra was raised in Keenesburg, where her family farmed. She graduated from Weld Central High School in 1969. She attended and was confirmed at Zoar Congregational Church, Prospect Valley.
Sandra married Anthony Thomas John, II on June 14, 1969 in Denver. After their marriage they lived in Thornton. She farmed with her husband’s family in Thornton for many years. After the death of her husband, she moved to Keenesburg. She owned and operated a ceramic shop in Keenesburg for several years. Sandra moved to Evans in 2006. She loved Elvis Presley and collected a lot of memorabilia. She loved to camp, knit, crochet, sew, cross-stich and ceramics. She was a very hard worker and supported her family until her health failed. Sandra loved all the babies in the family especially her grandchildren.
Sandra is survived by her daughter Tonia Tracy (Brandon) and son Tony John all of Greeley; sister Lori Grindle (Randy) of Wiggins; sisters-in-law Patty Baumgartner and Vicki Baumgartner both of Keenesburg, brothers Richard Baumgartner and Rodney Baumgartner (Helen) all of Keenesburg; grandchildren Kameron , Hailey and Peyton Tracy, very special niece Karen Baumgartner of Evans and many other nieces and nephews.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Thomas John II; parents; her brother Kenneth Baumgartner who died on the same day; a brother Gerald Baumgartner and sister-in-law Linda Baumgartner.
Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, at the American Legion in Keenesburg.
