Sharon Ann Held

Sharon Ann Held passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 8, 2016. Sharon was born in Greeley, CO to Howard and Wethea (Eckhard) Crouse. She, her parents and seven siblings resided in Milliken, Colorado throughout her childhood. She married her high school sweetheart, Edgar William “Bill” Held on August 7, 1970. They had three children, Shari (Bohn), William “Bill,” and Robert “Bobby” Held and two grandchildren, Austin and Avery Bohn. Sharon was a 1965 graduate of Roosevelt High School and a 1969 graduate in mathematics from Colorado State University. She retired in March of 2016 after 40 years of service with the City of Fort Collins. Her last role with the City was as a Key Accounts Representative with the Utilities Department, serving accounts including Colorado State University, Poudre School District, Larimer County and many other governmental organizations in Fort Collins. She also served as Farm Manager for Thompson Valley Farms. After retirement she enjoyed a two-week road trip vacation with her sister Carolyn. Sharon was an avid Denver Broncos and Colorado State University Rams fan, Roosevelt High School Booster, and Co-Founder and President of the Roosevelt High School Alumni Association. She was also a fierce trivia competitor. But of all her loves in life, she was most proud of her grandchildren’s activities and accomplishments. As her family says, she was everybody’s best cheerleader. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, her brothers Albert and Howard Crouse and her sister Kathryn (Crouse) Shaw. She is survived by her children, her grandchildren, her sisters Alberta Hergenreder, Carolyn Murphy, and Vicki (Carl) Yost, her brother Chet (Norma) Crouse, and brother-in-law, John Held as well as many loving nephews, nieces and cousins. Services will be held on Monday, June 20th at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 5450 S. Lemay Ave. Fort Collins, Colorado, 80525. Services will begin with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. A light lunch reception will follow the mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Roosevelt High School Alumni Association for the Bill and Sharon Held Memorial Scholarship Fund, through Allnutt Funeral Services at 650 W.
