Shirley Burns Archambault, 79, died at 10:08 pm on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Garden Square of Greeley Memory Care in Greeley, CO. She was born in Rockford, IL on August 26, 1941 to Thomas and Virginia Burns.
Growing up in Rockford, IL she was the third of four children in the Burns family. Her siblings Ginny Green, Thomas and Bob were raised in the city’s northeast section. She and her younger brother Bob formed a very special sibling friendship in her younger years. Growing up, Shirley loved spending time with her dad and family game night. Shirley attended Webster University and traveled to St. Louis, MO where she taught 1st grade at Church of the Little Flower and school. She moved to Denver, CO in 1969 and graduated from Regis University. She taught at St. Vincent de Paul School before taking a full-time position as a cashier at King Soopers. Shirley was married to Pierre (Pete) Archambault Jr (deceased) from 1977 to 1986. Together, they had two twin boys. Shirley loved baking, reading and playing card games, specifically Bridge and Solitaire. Shirley was a long-time resident of Aurora, CO.
Shirley’s father, mother and brother, Thomas, proceeded her in death.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Pierre III (Tiffany) of Johnstown, CO, Paul (Tracie) of Philadelphia, PA, Ginny, and Bob, along with four grandchildren (Julia, Thomas, Michael and Ethan).
Services for Shirley will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, December 3rd, 2020 at 10:00 am.
