Shirley Sanders, 80, of Greeley passed away from complications with cancer on Monday, February 9, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in 1934 in Neiber, WY to Casper and Martha (Hoferber) Hoffman.

Shirley met and married her fist love Ramon Eckhardt in 1953. Shirley was a housewife and stayed home with their two children. She worked in retail after the kids started school until Ramon’s death in 1987.

Shirley was fortunate to have found Robert Sanders in Colorado in 1989. They married in Arizona in 1991. Throughout their 23 years together they traveled the United States with their business on a truck. Shirley was happiest when she and Robert were together on the truck.

Shirley was a true Colorado sports fan; she loved the Rockies and Broncos. She always had a smile on her face. She loved the color red and loved dressing up; you would always see Shirley in a pair of high heels!

Shirley is survived by numerous sisters and brothers and her two children; Randy (Sandy) Eckhardt of Greeley and Pam (Kevin) Porter of Colorado Springs and two step-children Robert (Katherine) Sanders of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mike (Nicole) of Phoenix, Arizona. Shirley was madly in love with her five grandchildren; Sara Bishop, Lacy Dennis, Brandy Porter, Sean Porter and Alex Sanders and three great grandchildren; Bailey Porter, Arianna Porter and Ethan Dennis.
