Stella grew up on a farm southeast of La Salle. The family moved to Greeley, where she completed her education. She graduated from College High School (now University High).
On March 2, 1963, she married Raymond Brown at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Greeley. He died on March 18, 2002. Stella was reared in the Catholic faith and loved attending St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Stella worked for Wright & McGill Company making fishing rods. She also worked at Wal-Mart for 27 years. She enjoyed spending time in Black Hawk and loved her dog, “Coco”.
Stella is survived by her sisters, Rachel Bartlett (Hank) of Colorado Springs, Dorothy Ruzyla (Mike) of Greeley, Viola Lucero (Edward) of Colorado Springs, and Louella Tanguma and Shirley Lucero both of Denver; brother, Frank Baca of Greeley and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Dyer and son, Gerald “Gerry” Brown.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2019 followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 915 12th Avenue, Greeley. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
