Steve was a long time friend of mine.  I believe I met him because my husband was working at Heath Farm Equipment but I'm morphing many memories these days.  That's back in 1073-75.  I even cleaned his house for a while.  Him talking to me continuously and me trying to keep up with his ideas, his humor and his heart.  I liked and loved Steve but he intimidated me.  I will really miss and mourn him and wish there were more people like him in the world.

He was an active member of our group for a very long time and tried to attend all the meet and greets where he interacted with so many people and was always welcoming. He brought with him such a caring attitude toward people and will be missed greatly.

My husband and I met Steve when looking for help preparing our taxes. He ended up being someone whose company we sought out many times after that, other than at tax time. 
He impressed me as someone who valued  people and nurtured friendships.He even had a bowl of candy bars  in his living room to treat anybody who happened to come by. 

He made you feel at ease around him.  It was like he was working to make sure that you were happy and not worried about him. And he was so sensitive to his friends' feelings that in the last year when he was feeling a pang of pain, he would substitute the exclamation ""Aargh!"" for Ouch!""  He could get a laugh out of that. And it's suited him. He had a roguish bit of Captain Jack Sparrow in him.

It seems he always had a bright face and smile and a ready laugh. His constant joyful manner was a bit surprising for someone who had lived in a wheelchair for the last  37 years. (It was easy to forget that after being around him for a few minutes.) 
Steve was really generous with helping us when we needed some computer  guidance or had to buy a used iPad. He actually shopped online to find us a good one.

 He was kind. He seem to know what was important.
We both felt so lucky to have known him. I will cherish the memory of him laughing, head back....eyes sparkling  (So full of life.)

I met Steve when he was in a graduate class I taught at CSU in 1986. He was active and very popular with the other students. They would beg him to sit back and balance on the wheel chair, feet in the air. He could hold that pose for hours. I was also a Macintosh user, and he quickly took me under his wings and taught me how to use Excel, set up my domain, and rode with me to several Apple conferences. I will miss him forever, He was a light in everyone's life.
Unfortunately I will be in Oklahoma at the time of his celebration of life. Please know that I am there in spirit. You were a good friend and I have lots of fond memories.

I met Steve through the meetup group about 5 years ago. We spent hours talking taxes and shared IRS stories. He introduced me to his brother Scott and welcomed me into the family.  Will miss him and his positive attitude towards life even though he was dealt a tough hand of cards these past 38 years.
RIP Steve - so happy you are finally free of pain...

Steve, it was an honor to meet you, to share great conversations with you, and to call you my friend. You are missed. RIP good buddy.

Sending condolences to Steve's family.  We met at the Over 40s meetup group events and I enjoyed many wonderful conversations with him over the years.  He always had interesting topics to discuss, and was more than willing to share pictures of the latest concerts he had attended.  He had so many wonderful pictures of all the musicians and great memories of personal interactions with many of those musicians.  I had the pleasure of attending a Red Rocks concert with him a few years ago and it was a lot of fun, and very evident that Steve treasured those live music concerts immensely.  He had a lot of friends in the meetup group due to his ability to interact with everyone, and his very friendly and open manner.  He is going to be missed!

I had met Steve at Scott's parties and through Scott I feel that I really knew him.  Thoughts and prayers are with the families.

Steve and I met at one of George Gaebler's infamous Valentines Day parties. Steve looked so handsome in a pressed white shirt, suspenders and a nice tie I fell for him immediately and, as no doubt many women did, ended up getting a ""ride"" in his wheelchair. 

Steve was running for office--don't remember which one--and was at the top of his game. I'll always remember his big smile during that period.  

We stayed good friends throughout the years. He rejoiced when I found true love and consoled me when my husband John Forgach died of cancer at 35. 

Steve was famous for his keggerator but he always remembered I didn't drink beer and had the makings for a Cape Cod on hand  

For several years, Dteve managed my taxes and did an excellent job. He was always so helpful when I had IT questions, often giving me far more information than I truly needed. 

We spent a weekend trying to declutter Steve's house--a futile effort. His philosophy was, ""Why buy one keyboard when you can get 10 for a cheaper price?""  We laughed a great deal but only managed to fill one garbage can  

Our last visit was a sad one. I could tell the meds and pain were befuddling his magnificent brain. He was weary but said he was still fighting. 

We kissed and I left to spend 45 days in Europe. I was greatly saddened to see the announcement of his death. It seemed Strve had do very much more to do but I'm happy that he's feeling no pain in the hereafter, whatever that may be. 

It's easy to imagine him running on strong legs, stretched out to his full, amazing height at long last.

My thoughts are with Steve's family and friends.  When I moved to Ft Collins 1983 I rented a room from Steve.  I met my husband of 31 years in the room across the hall in the same house.  RIP
