Sue Sorenson, 70 passed away on November 17th, 2023. She was born on July 18th, 1953 in Denver, CO to Ralph Spradlin and Mary Ann Dettman. While raising 3 children, she earned her Bachelor’s degree at Kearney State College and went on to get her Masters degree from University of Northern Colorado. She spent most of her career teaching at Billie Martinez Elementary in Greeley, CO. Sue retired when she was 60 in 2013. She continued to substitute at Billie Martinez until Covid when she became a full-time at home grandma/teacher for 3 of her grandchildren. Sue was a caretaker to the core and loved giving back to the community through various organizations. She loved spending time with her friends and family as much as possible.
Sue is survived by her children Neil (Jhoni), Stacey, and Eric (Tara). Five grandchildren, Kolton, Cenika, Maddox, Deryn, and Zander. She is also survived by her brothers, Kevin (Marcia) Spradlin, Craig (Monica) Spradlin, nephews, K.C., Jeremy, Marcus, Tony, nieces, Lisa, Jamie, Amber and sister-in-law Monita Spradlin.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mary Ann Spradlin and her brother, Tom Spradlin.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Billie Martinez Elementary School, 341 14th Ave, Greeley, Colorado 80631.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Stoddard Funeral Home 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley, CO 80634. A reception will follow at the Greeley Active Adult Center from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 1010 6th Street. Greeley, CO 80631.
