Tara Lee Vance (August 20, 1970 – March 11, 2020)

Born in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on August 20th, 1970, Tara Vance spent the first 9 years of her life there with her brother John. After her mother’s death, she moved to Greeley, Colorado, and was adopted by her new family and spent the rest of her childhood there. She graduated from Greeley West High School in 1988. While there, she explored a multitude of passionate talents including varsity volleyball, track, the saxophone, choir, marching, jazz and pep band, in which she lettered. The foremost of these passions, however, was dancing (which she started at the age of ten, later placing 2nd in the “Stars of Tomorrow” competition). She spent time in Florida, working at Progressive Insurance and enjoyed all the time she had at the beach. Missing her roots, she moved back to Greeley and started working at Flood & Peterson for several years, before she and her husband Todd were blessed with two amazing children: Tyler and Alexa. Along with dancing, her love for music defined her, attending many concerts across the country, almost missing a family vacation to see her favorite, Duran Duran. She also loved the outdoors, being a pro at waterskiing, camping and boating. Along with an amazing sense of humor, she enjoyed family and 80s films like School of Rock, Dirty Dancing and A Knight’s Tale and she was almost unbeatable at Scrabble. Tara was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a devoted follower of God. She spent her life raising her children in the most positive and influential way, resulting in a maternal pride that she carried with her to the end. After separating from her husband, Tara took a job at JBS for the remainder of her years. Throughout her life, Tara was ahead of her time, her style emulating a rock star diva vibe without concern about what people may have thought. From the moment she was born, Tara embodied a beautiful light in the world around her, keeping her faith and her family alive long after her time on Earth.

Due to extenuating circumstances the public service has been postponed to a date to be determined later for extended family, as well as important friends and coworkers. Thank you for your understanding during these confusing times.

Sending our deepest sympathy on the loss of Tara. It was a joy to know Tara and a priviledge watch her dance. Ginny is so lucky to have been able to dance with her while growing up.
Love and Peace,

My sweet sweet Taramisu/Adriana.....
You were the brightest light from the moment I met you. Your friendship was the most loyal, compassionate and unconditional that I've ever known. I was looking so forward to your trip to AZ so we could worship the sun together. I will see you on the other side. I know you are in the arms of our Jesus. Forever protected and loved unconditionally, because that's all you ever wanted and all that you needed. I will keep your memory alive my sweet Brazilian sister.
Love you more~
Your sista from another mista

Taramisu, I remember our walks around the lake at JBS with Renee, Sara, Martha, and others. We talked about life, we exercised together, Brazilian Bum, Bum! We watched football together, talked about the love we had for our children, and went to lunch even after I left JBS but I wish I stayed in touch better. You are a light, an amazing daughter of God. I love you lady and will see you in heaven 🥰

I’m so sad to see this. I did not know Tara personally but I used to work at JBS and she always said hi whether it be passing each other in the hall, in the cafeteria or out walking around the lake. Very friendly and always had a smile on her face. Prayers to her friends and family.

My heart ached the day I heard the angels took you home. When last we spoke, you gave me the opportunity to not leave the words unspoken, that I loved and cared for you. You told me the same. I am blessed that you have been in my life. A loving, sparkling light will be missed by all that knew you. I know you will be dancing along the streets of Heaven and watching over your family. My dear, sweet friend, we wil reunite again in His house. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Dear Tara,
You were always loved SO very much from so far away from your little Karpinski Family from Pennsylvania. You were my twin cousin born 10 yrs ahead, but both August 20th babies, pure fire and beauty! Your Nanny Ruth loved you dearly and I hope you get to dance with her now in heaven. I am glad I got the chance to meet you as an adult in Colorado and keep contact over the years through phones and facebook. Your children are stunning and talented from stories and pictures you texted me throughout the years. My prayers are that you are resting in the most beautiful gardens of heaven, forever.
Love, Cousin Ruth Schied (Karpinski)
