Mae was born September 2, 1932 to Edwin and Margaret Lohr. She grew up on the family farm near Gill, Colorado, surrounded by her three brothers and two sisters.
Mae gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ when she was a teenager. In recent years, her favorite Scriptures were II Corinthians 5 and Psalm 139.
After graduating from Gill High School in 1950, Mae went to work as a telephone operator. In 1953, she attended the Arizona Bible Institute with her brother Ray.
During the summer of 1955, she met and married Roy Cogburn of Gilcrest, Colorado. Roy and Mae worked together throughout their 43 years of marriage, from farming, managing a grain elevator, and operating trucks, to delivering the Greeley Tribune.
Survivors are three children, Randy (Cyndy) Cogburn of Greenfield, Tennessee, Lynn Cogburn (Glen Wielgot) of Centennial, Colorado, and Jana (Stewart) Bjelkevig of Wheatland, Wyoming. Also surviving are younger brother Raymond (Dorthula) Lohr of Greeley and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mae was preceded in death by husband, Roy Cogburn and grandson, Bobby Greer.
Interment will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 13 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
