Therese was born in Waterloo, IA May 29, 1957 to Gerald and Pearl “Dolly” Amfahr of Jesup, IA. She attended St. Athanasius Elementary and after graduating from Jesup Community High, she attended Hawkeye Community College. On February 19, 1977, she was united in marriage with Merlyn Judisch at St. Athanasius Catholic Church. They moved to Hudson, Colorado with their three sons in 1980.
Therese worked for Weld County much of her career in the Buildings and Grounds Department. She retired in 2008. Therese had a passion for sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She was an avid fan of the University of Iowa and Iowa State athletics. She loved dogs, especially Corgi’s, and would share funny pictures and videos.
Survivors include three sons Karl Judisch with daughter Karli of Ft Lupton, CO, Kris (Jodie) Judisch with daughters Athena, Alexis and Allison of Brighton, CO and Kevin (Virginia) Judisch with son Oliver and daughter Vivian of Eaton, CO; father Gerald and step-mother Donna of Jesup, IA; one brother Thomas (Cynthia) Amfahr of New Hampton, IA; one sister Tina Parris (Mark Neary) of West Des Moines, IA; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl “Dolly” Amfahr, who died in January 1989.
A celebration of Therese life will be held in June in Jesup, IA. At that time, Therese’s cremains will be laid to rest with her beloved mother in St. Athanasius Cemetery.
