a.k.a, Leonard, ceased suffering at his home in Bellvue, Colorado.
David Pettus and Shirley McKinley Pettus welcomed their son into this world on November 27, 1955 in
Austin, TX.
Thomas (Leo) lived and worked in Fort Collins, CO for most of his life. He was a skilled iron sculptor, craftsman and mechanic. Leo had the mind of an engineer and the heart of an artist. He was a quirky guy who always walked to the beat of his own drummer.
He is survived by his sisters, Alana Pettus Huber, Lindy Pettus Marvin and Jinx Pettus; his brother Bligh Pettus; his nieces Katrina Waterman, Beki Chandler, Jenny Pettus, Anna Pettus and Elly Gumeson; his nephews Thomas Pettus, Eric Huber, Kristofer Huber and Benjamin Marvin; his dear friend, Rusty Furrow; and his dog Riley.
Leonard’s artwork is his legacy. His graceful vine tables and his “Rebel without a Cod” show his multi-
faceted style. His repertoire represents the influences in his life’s journey.
He loved dogs, his family and friends, formula one races, motorcycles, bicycles, canoeing, good books,
good food, beautiful women, music and nature.
Our loving friend, brother and uncle lived and died on his own terms. He requested that his body be donated to science.
A Potluck Gathering of family and friends to honor Leonard’s time on this earth will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Bellvue Grange, 2929 N. County Road 23, Bellvue, CO. 80512.
