Dear Freda, Gerry and Cathy,
This note of condolence comes from two of us who knew Tim, Freda, Jack, and Gerry from our days together in Montezuma, Iowa. My mother just showed me Tim's obituary from the Montezuma paper, and we wanted to let you know how deeply saddened we are by your loss.
The days we had in Montezuma were full of wonder and fun, especially for us kids! Tim was always my first-choice playmate. We roamed the streets of town, the pasture behind our house, and the park. I was truly crushed when Tim moved away to Colorado Springs, yet we had a wonderful visit with you there, where Tim and I played backyard baseball well into the night. 
I guess in those days I wasn't very aware of the health issues that were emerging for Tim and which became so challenging over the years that followed. But I'm not surprised that he lived his life with grace and generosity and friendship -- all characteristics abundantly evident when he was a young boy and a special friend who will never be forgotten.

Tim has been a part of me since he was 4 (and I was 16) and spending the summer with them in Manitou Springs.  I know of no one who endured what he had to to live and, he lived abundantly.  I will always miss him.

Cathy---I just returned home from a trip to the east coast and read sadly about Tim.  I'm heartsick for you.  He was a delight and the world has truly lost a VERY special person. Hope it helps to know I care.

I always will remember Tim as one of the most spirited, upbeat, funny, caring individuals I have ever met!!  I know he touched the lives of all who crossed his path.

Your love for Tim, your lives with Tim, and now the loss of him is a bond that you share. I know how much you will miss Tim and how difficult this has to be. My heart breaks for each of you. Just know that you are all in my prayers. Tim will forever be in my heart; he was so special to me. Gerry, your poem says it so well, he lives on as ""my hero"" too. I love that. It is his will to live and to make a difference that guides me.

Now....can't you just imagine what they are up to now, together? There is a comfort knowing that there is endless baseball, beer, golf, friends and family to sustain them in heaven.

Cathy, Well we have a little advantage writing after Tim?'s funeral. He would have approved. It was a standing room only and then some, tribute to his legacy. I was honored to be asked to be a pall bearer. Thank you. We laughed, we cried, and we said our good-byes. Afterwards, your home was filled with friends and family reminiscing about the good times and the cherished friend we?'ll all miss. 
Cathy fulfilled Tim?'s wish that we raise a toast in his honor, but there will be many more of those to come in the future. Tim was such an inspiration to us and so many others. When our spirits were down we often thought of Tim and Cathy and the daily struggles they faced. Our problems always paled in comparison and their strength helped us move forward. We are so thankful we were able to be with Tim and Cathy a few weeks ago and share some precious time with them. 
Tim and Cathy fought a good and courageous fight with Tim?'s health for many years. Cathy was always his rock and his angel. But now the time has come to bid Tim farewell. So Rest in Peace our friend, Rest in Peace.

Dear Ones,
     We have never met,  but I have fond memories of your dear Tim.   Years ago, my youngest daughter was having a very difficult time.   She was just 18, and lost - due to her parents divorce.   Tim counselled her for about a month and completely turned her around.   Bless his kind heart.   I don't know what I would have done if he had not intervened.  I was at my wit's end.   She is now a lovely young wife with a wonderful family and career.   God bless this wonderful man - he touched many, many lives.   There is surely a new angel in Heaven.   Jeanne Miller

When Tim was in Calif. waiting for his lung, I called him to inform him that In the reconstruction that Water Pik was going through I was losing my job, but I wanted to wish him well and that I would see him when he got back. 
It was just like Tim to not be concerned about himself, but he tried to cheer me up. He hardly ever thought of himself. He was always up beat and trying to encourage others. Tim will always be in my prayers. 
I also want to give my condolences to the family.

I don't know if you remember me but I got to know you and Tim when I worked for the county. There were times when we had gatherings of friends and I was honored to have you and Tim as my friends.  He was such a strong man and such a fighter.  It had to be that red hair that gave him that spirit.  That is where the term ""Fighting Irish"" came from! I kept up on his health etc. with our mutual friends the Crawfords. I know that he will be missed by many although he did have quite the impact on many peoples lives.  He was a good man and loved you dearly.  I wish you peace and hold on to all those great memories of him and remember, his is free of pain and is at peace.

I wish the miles between us were not so great, and I could be there to give you warm hugs and support. Please know that my love, thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones, and I will be calling often.
Tomorrow 11/9, will marke the 12 year, 9 month anniversary of our spending almost an entire day together at two different hospitals in San Diego, a day never to be forgotten! Two of the most important people in our lives were saved by surgery, and we shared a bond which will never be broken. Jack by open heart and Tim by lung transplant. Tim's by the generosity of one young man being a donor, so another young man could live. Tim never let this donor down, he gave 150% to make use of his ""gift"". Thanks to you and Tim, I shared a miracle of life that night that few have the privilege to experience, with Tim never losing his sense of humor even on the way to OR. This was Timothy, as I fondly called him, a ready smile, a loving heart, unlimited acceptance of his health issues, and an unbelievable work ethic, were just a few of his outstanding traits. He was a role model to all and an inspiration to all whose lives he touched, he was and forever will be my hero...he faced medical adversities every day of his life for years, and fought the battle long and hard.
Behind this man was a beautiful, intelligent and loving wife who also fought the battle every step of the way by monitoring all of Tim's every day needs, which was a huge task. So many adverse conditions, and you handled each one as they arose. Each time I hung up the phone from talking to you, I marveled at how you two could handle each problem and never complain... you also gained hero status in my book Cathy, you persevered against all odds.
As you enter this next phase of your life, know that we are here for you in any way we can be of help, and we look forward to seeing you in a few short weeks.
May the good Lord bless and keep you, and give you added strength during these difficult times. Holding you close in my heart......... Love you, Pat

Across the miles my heart is sad, wish i could be there to honor Tim, but in my heart I am...Such a kind and valued leader in the community of Ft. Collins where I had the opportunity and pleasure to know and work with him. Tim was one of the very first people I met in Fort Collins.  What a wonderful representative of the community with his laughter, love of life and dedication to helping others.  He was coordinating the Teledyne United Way campaign and helped make it one of the most ""fun"" fundraising efforts around.  I had the pleasure of working with him for several years on United Way and always learned so much from him.  His spirit, compassion and laughter will be missed.

Dearest Cathy,
I was saddened to hear that Tim died, especially since we were brothers in the operating roms on the same day. I think of those days very often. I was so happy that Tim was able to extend his life longer than any in his group of transplantees - that, in itself was special. I feel my life was extended also. It has not been easy for either of you to cope with the constant trials and tribulations that you went through so Tim could have some reasonable quality of life, which I feel he maximized with his attitude, talents, drive and character. He reminded me of the Marines I work with periodically: Drive, focus on life and work, teamwork, always faithful, (Semper Fidelis), to everyone and himself. I respected him for these, and all other important qualities which I am sure all who knew him felt. (maybe his lung source increased his fighting spirit, along with being Irish).
During my last heart surgery three years ago, my heart stopped several times, and I saw the ""white beam of light at the end of the tunnel"", I felt extremely peaceful and at one with God. I had not been an extremely religious person until then. Since then, my life changed, and I make a practice of talking to God on a daily basis regarding all issues in my life, asking for guidance in all I do and giving thanks for all of my blessings. This has given me a peace I had not known before, and I know that Timothy has that same peace with our ""Maker"" now that his burdens in life have been lifted. Cathy, you also deserve this same peace of mind, you life is starting anew, and you need to enjoy the rest of it free from loneliness and sadness, and filled with happy memories and new experiences. I know this will happen for you in time, and we look forward to being part of those years to come.
I am sorry we could not be there for Tim's service, but we are there in spirit.

Cathy, I just came home from San Diego last night with you all on my mind. It seems like yesterday when I saw you in San Diego while you were waiting for Tim's transplant. I just opened the shocking email from Joel this morning. 
Cathy, I am so sorry I am not there as I want to convey my respect for you and Tim and honor the inspiration he has been to all of us. His determination and outlook is something we all have admired over the years. I will pray for your strength to get through these very tough days. I will never forget that wide eyed grin that has made all of us smile over the years. I feel so fortunate to have known Tim and had the opportunity to work and laugh with him at Water Pik. He, along with a few others, did a wonderful goofy video for my 50th birthday. I will continue to treasure that memory of him at his best! Candy

I first met Tim while working as a Respiratory Therapist in Pulmonary Rehab at PVH.  What a guy!  He was such an inspiration to me as well as to others in the group.  It was so much fun to watch him celebrate life.  Very few people that we meet for such short periods of time have the impact that Tim had.  It was an honor to have called him my friend.  I am sorry for your loss.

Although he had a 2 for a body he was always a 10 in mind and spirit.
I will always remember him as a good friend and colleague. Whenever we were together, no matter where, we laughed all of the time. I will always rememeber him as the ""Good Tim"" and without hesitation he always reminded me that I was the ""Bad Tim"". :o)

In the mid 90's I worked with Tim at Teledyne Water Pik.  It was easy to make friends with Tim because he made you feel good about life.  I now work at Poudre Valley Hospital and have run into Tim over the past several months.  We spoke briefly and he still had that joyful spirit.  I think that I am fortunate because he called me his friend.  He will be missed.

From the first time that I met Tim at Foothills-Gateway back in 1976 I knew that I had a ""good friend"" for life and because he managed all of his health issues with such dignity and humor I thought that friendship would go on for a long time yet. To Cathy and family:  You already know that Tim influenced so many lives, modeling humor, character and support.  I can honestly say that my life would not be the same if I had not had Tim's support and guidance - and even his job, since he helped me get the LCVTC job that he left when he went to Teledyne.  When I saw Tim at CSU games or around town or at my retirement party, his spirit was strong and his positive attiude so obvious.  There are few of us who could live as he did, dealing with health issues but concentrating on the living part.  I feel sad for your family, yet I am also sure that you were remarkable in your support, for Tim to have been so successful in his life.  I received a card when my Dad died and it said, ""God gave us memory so we might have roses in December.""  May your memories of Tim be like roses in December - perhaps not here to touch but here forever.  I send you my sympathy and extend my admiration and caring to Tim, as he is probably making others laugh in his next life. Your wishes for organ donation are a wonderful gift and, while I am already signed up as a donor, my husband, Joe, is going to sign up as well.

Tim was a welcome face to see day to day.  He always had a cheery Hello and a warm smile to share with everyone.  He was someone that you could talk to and he would just listen. Oh, Cath, I'm so, so sorry to hear of Tim's passing.  I'm also so, so glad to have known Tim and you all these years.  I've been thinking about you two a lot lately;  I'm sorry I didn't just pick up the phone and see how you were doing.  I always smile when I think of Tim;  remembering all the stories from over the year (the blowup doll for the yellow Porsche comes to mind right now).  I remember his contagious smile and the mischevious twinkle in those Irish eyes.  I remember hearing that finally, finally he was going to get the transplant;  how he knew the night before while watching the news; how he had to drive to the hospital;  how I felt when I heard it went well and you two were coming home.  I remember the anniversary parties at the Cork, seeing you guys around town and smiling inside whenever I did.  I'm also glad he's not suffering anymore, but I already miss him terribly.  I feel very lucky to have known him.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Memories of Tim, and testing at Foot Hills Gateway, when I was taking tests for Voc-Rehab.  Oh, what a blessing he were when he complimented me on knowing my Mathematics after all those years of being out of school.
That was something that I have carried with me in many areas.
I helped kids in school as an aide and see them learn how to do Math and end up winning an award for the most improvement in that year for their school.  
Helping others is so important, and he did in helping others at Ft. Hills and I am sure wherever he went.

I met Tim at LCVTC, which is now Front Range Community College, many years ago.  I only have warm and wonderful memories of Tim.  We shared many a laugh with Tim and expecially enjoyed the multi-purpose greeting card that the nursing dept and Tim established.  We would cross out the current saying and write in what was the current occassion.  The card went back and forth many years.  I cherish all the memories I have of Tim.  Organ donation and ""pay it forward"" are wonderful things to do in Tim's memory.  He will never be forgotten.

I too was a part of the college scene with Tim and Jim. Sue Johnston, Sue Sato,  and I.
 I continued to see Tim throughout the next few years in his many educational endeavors. Tim was truely one of the tride and true positive thinkers in life..it was a treasure to have known him and to be a part of his memory bank.  Cathy, how great it was of you to share him with all of us.

Having known Tim since 7th grade, Palmer,CSU and later on through our lives and careers, Tim became my inspiration for my trials and tribulations. He taught me that attitude and outlook towards lifes' strife means everything! Sheila and I will miss him at every football game we attend.

I was a WaterPik co-worker of Tim's, but our relationship was mostly based on our devotion to the CSU RAMS.  I could always count on Tim to stop by my office to discuss the win or loss of our beloved Rams.  He was and continues to be a positive influence on living life to the fullest.

Sorry I can't make the service. He is one of my best memories of Teledyne. So kind, caring, gentle, humorous, sweet sweet man. Though I did not get to know him personally I am very very sorry to hear of his passing. The world is a little less compassionate without him.

Fond memories of Tim are going through my mind from Grade School, Jr. High, High School, College and beyond.  I have such terrific thoughts remembering all the different types of trouble we could find.  Tim, from the very first time I met him and through every conversation we ever had, was so enormously comical, always finding humor no matter what the situation.  Tim is without a doubt one of the finest human beings I have ever known.  With all the trials Tim dealt with in his everyday life he always spent much of his time trying to find out how others were doing.  Tim will be missed by many he touched and I am truly the luckier for having been able to spend the time we have had together.

We will remember Tim for his happy ways,and strong will.  He was his mothers son.  So sorry.

I knew Tim from my days at Waterpik. He was always so upbeat and fun. I knew I was going to like him when I went to a Steven Wright performance at the Lincoln Center and he and his wife were sitting in the row ahead of us! The best part about playing on the Waterpik golf league was the round we got to play with Tim and Diane. It was more of a laugh riot than a golf match. Tim was a joy to know and he touched the hearts of all who knew him. He is loved and will be missed.

I didn't know Tim persoanlly, but my band played a benefit for Tim & Cathy, October 1 & 2, 1993, at Club Ganders, Marriott Hotel.  I remember realizing what a good guy he must have been by the huge number of friends that came to the dances.  I still have my ""It's Time For Tim"" keepsake mug they gave all the band members. Tim positively affected so many lives. All who knew him were blessed.

I will remember the Dec. of 1997 trip to San Diego to cheer the Rams to victory in the Holiday Bowl.  My son Eli, Tim, Lou W. and Rich Feller.  One of the best moments was when Lou was using a car loaned to him by a childhood friend.  It was a ""two seater"" and after the team reception, we ""cramed"" four people into the car built for two.  Great times/ great guy!!

Tim was an inspiration to me.  From my earliest contacts with him, he brought excitement and fun to every endeavor.  Throughout his illness, he was strong willed and kept his sense of humor.  I admired Tim as one of the most positive and dedicated people I have known.  I am deeply saddened and send my regards to everyone who grieves with me.  Susan Schell
